Baked Salmon with Creamy Lemon-Dill Sauce

Another salmon recipe! We eat salmon about once a week. It’s easy, delicious, and seriously good for you. This one is quick enough for a weeknight dinner but impressive enough to serve when company’s coming over.

In a nutshell

Make the sauce → top the salmon with sauce → bake!

Ingredients

  • Salmon
  • 4 salmon fillets, about 5–6 oz (140–170 g) each

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • Creamy Lemon-Dill Sauce
  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tsp finely grated lemon zest

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 3 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • For serving
  • Lemon wedges

  • Extra fresh dill

  • Reserved fresh lemon-dill sauce

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, combine all the lemon dill sauce ingredients.
  • Pat the salmon dry with paper towel. Place the fillets skin-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Season the salmon with salt and pepper.
  • Spread a thin layer of the sauce over the top of each salmon fillet.
Set aside about ⅓ of the sauce for serving later.
  • Bake uncovered for approximately 15–20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon. Start checking around 15 minutes. The salmon should flake easily but still be moist in the centre.
  • Remove from the oven and let the salmon rest for 2–3 minutes.
  • Spoon the reserved fresh lemon-dill sauce over the salmon and garnish with fresh dill. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • I like to serve this with roasted spuds and green beans.
